BT’s buy-out of ESPN’s television business places BT as second on the list of providers of sports channels in the UK and Ireland.

BT’s challenge is to balance customer satisfaction with its profit, the service provided is costly but is worth it if you love your sport.

BT’s success with BT Sport depends on how it uses YouView and multicast channels (multiple local channels).

When will it be available?

The plan is to be completed by July 31st 2013.

What will I be able to watch?

• A range of US sports
• Live FA Cup coverage until the end of the 2013/2014 season
• UEFA Europa and German Bundesliga until the end of the 2014/2015 season
• The Clydesdale Bank Scottish Premier League until the end of the 2014/2015 season

All of these extra channels means that the cost of BT services will rise but BT are hopeful that the extra features will bring customers to their broadband and home phone deals.

The idea is for existing customers to enjoy the benefits through bundle deals and discounts and hopefully entice new customers along the way.
