News released today shows just how far Britain’s broadband speeds are behind the rest of the world with the Solomon Islands recording a much higher average speed than the UK.

Coming in at an average speed of 100Mbps the sun drenched residents of the Solomon Islands are enjoying broadband speeds 50 times faster than us cold, miserable British on the other side of the world!

In case you were asleep during your geography classes at school, the Solomon Islands are situated just east of Papua New Guinea and are about the collective size of London.

Despite the Solomon Islands small stature, they have still managed to install state of the art fibre optic technology to deliver speeds of up to 100Mb, something that Virgin Media cannot even provide.

With the Digital Britain report promising speeds of up to 2Mbps to every home in the UK by 2012 it seems that we have a long, long way to go before we get to the standard of the rest of the world.

Unfortunately we cannot yet help you to compare 100Mbps broadband deals but if you would like to see what broadband packages are available give one of our resident experts a call on 0800 466 1047.
