Freesat offers the only way of watching high definition TV (HDTV) free to air in the UK. Sky leads the way in HDTV with over 1.6 million HD subscribers, but they all pay for the privilege of watching up to 34 HDTV channels.
Freesat however is enjoying great popularity on the back of its HDTV proposition. Indeed about 80% of Freesat boxes sold, are HDTV compatible.
Freesat offers two HDTV channels – BBCHD and ITVHD and Freesat is the only UK platform to offer ITVHD.
Starting on 24th October, the entire Star Wars movies series comes to ITVHD and is therefore exclusive to Freesat!
The high definition Star Wars season on ITVHD kicks off with Episode I: The Phantom Menace on 24th October, culminating with Episode VI: Return of the Jedi in December, and including the terrestrial premiere of Episode III: Revenge of the Sith.
Other ITV HD highlights on Freesat include films such as Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, and Champions League and FA Cup football.
